By George we made it!
Our first night in HK. Kowloon to be precise.
We have just polished off a sumptuous meal of chicken curry and rice - as good as can be found in any self respecting Scouse chippy.
The flight was pain free. Not much sleep was had though.
The best part of today was clapping eyes on HK harbour at dusk.
Our digs for the next 2 nights are fab. Not much to them but everything you need, super clean and right in the middle of all the action. I can recommend a gazillion Indian tailors, who throw themselves at us at any opportunity. Thank you no, no thanks, on yer bike. We've taken to darting down the back streets to avoid them and we've only been here 5mins.
After an early night tonight it's an early start heading for Hong Kong island tomorrow...

Busy Busy Busy
There's now under one week to go. Everything is just about coming together, the few final ends are being tidied up and even the packing has begun in earnest. Fingers crossed, if the next few days run smoothly then we'll be ready to go! A big thanks to everyone who has helped or is going to be helping over the next few days and another big thanks to everyone who came out to our various leaving do's, it was very much appreciated and was great to see everyone and the turn out was better than we could have thought. Stupidly, I completely forgot to get my camera out and take any photos at all at any of the parties so I can't post any here which is rather annoying!
Still, roll on Tuesday......

Leaving Dos and Don'ts
Sorry about the pun. We are now halfway through the aforementioned four leaving dos which we are greedily having. Both family outings are out of the way, so thats the trips to Liverpool and Wolverhampton accounted for, and we now have our combined work do (thats tonight!) and our London leaving night on Saturday. Looking forward to both! But once these are out of the way then we'll have to knuckle down to the serious business of putting our normal life on hold for a year. This is when it will become real. It won't be fun but we'll have a week of packing up boxes, ringing up banks and filling in change of address forms. Still, its a small price to pay. The big price to pay is the actual cost of our little trip, but it will still be worth it. I just hope that both of us end up in one piece after the next fews days!!
Chances are some pictures will materialise from the next couple of days so keep your eyes peeled!

3 Weeks to Go!
Today I am very excited. This time in three weeks we will be on our way. That's too exciting to put into words.
Also, we have now confirmed all of our accommodation in the Cook Islands and are not only going to Rarotonga but also to Aitutaki which should be great - I just hope the expectation isn't too high!
So excited!!!!
This is Aitutaki!

Mree's Second Blog
I'm getting quite good at this.
This weekend marks the first of our leaving do's. There will be four in total. Marginally over the top, but between us James and I have 3 cities to say goodbye to.
Tomorrow night is Liverpool. We'll be whooping it up with family and friends in a local pub and returning back to London with sore heads to complete the final 2 and a half weeks of yakky work.
From today - 25 days to go!
